Hope in Their Own Language
Two dozen Nomatsigenga congregants sat on stools arranged in a circle as books were distributed. I watched with tear-filled eyes as the sacred book was opened. I knew I was witnessing an historic, yet intimate moment as the Nomatsigenga believers saw the Book of Genesis in their own language, for the very first time.
In the beginning, God...
That very day, October 19, 2025, Nomatsigenga believers participated in an interactive lesson, “The Big Story” which begins with the account of creation found in Genesis. As our GO InterNational team led the Bible teaching, believers were able to read scripture references in their own language. The smiles on their faces and hope in their eyes changed me forever.
A people whose culture is steeped in the worship of the sun, moon, and stars can now read of God, our Creator, and that He alone is to be worshipped. A people whose oral tradition conveys an animist belief that each element of creation possesses a spirit, can now learn of the distinction of man and woman alone being created in His image. The ongoing translation of the Bible into the Nomatsigenga language, through our partnership with Pablo and Belen Soto, is changing forever the lives of an entire people group. After years of cultivating, planting, and watering, a harvest is being realized. I count it an honor to serve with these faithful workers...to pray, to give, to go, as lives are changing. As doors are opening.
Walk through these doors with us and bring glory to our God in the bearing of much fruit.
Be Part of the Story
The breakthrough we witnessed with the Nomatsigenga people is just the beginning, but our partners on the ground need our continued support to launch into this next vital phase. To keep this momentum going—and to fuel two other incredible ministries—we are raising a $40,000 global Launch Fund. Your gift today directly provides the resources, materials, and support these faithful workers need to bring the light of Scripture to even more hearts.
