Local Pharmacist Answers Call to Missions
When Matt Harney first traveled with GO InterNational in 2018, he didn’t expect the trip to change the direction of his life. But somewhere along the way, the retired Cynthiana pharmacist sensed a deeper call to missions.
Two years ago, Harney sold the pharmacy he had owned and operated in Cynthiana and began dedicating more of his time to serving overseas. In the past 13 months alone, he has traveled to Peru seven times, working alongside GO ministry partners to provide medical care and support to local communities.
Now Harney is stepping into a new role with GO as Coordinator of Medical Missions. He will help organize medical outreach efforts while continuing to lead teams into the field. With decades of healthcare experience and a growing heart for global ministry, Harney plans to keep doing what first drew him to the work: serving people and supporting the long-term ministry already happening on the ground.
