GO Interns Prepare to Serve in Peru

Austin Pritchett will spend three months in Saposoa, Peru beginning in April, serving alongside GO ministry partners Juan and Keyla Grandez. The couple leads a youth sports ministry designed to bring children off the streets and into the life of the local church. Through soccer and other activities, they create a space where young people can find mentorship, community, and discipleship. During his time there, Austin will support the Grandez family in their outreach. In the final week of his internship, a GO mission team will travel to Saposoa to join him and the ongoing ministry, continuing to build relationships within the community.

This fall, Ashton Montgomery will spend more than two months in Chuquibambilla, Peru alongside GO partners Pablo and Belén Soto. Ashton will be assisting the missionaries involved in translating the Old Testament into Nomatsigenga for the indigenous communities. One challenge facing the translators is limited access to English-language resources, since they are unable to read English. Ashton will help by teaching English to the missionaries, equipping them to better access translation tools and materials. This effort contributes to the long-term goal of making Scripture accessible in the heart language of the people they serve.
