  • Como, located in northern Italy near the Swiss border, is known for its beautiful lake views, historic architecture, and charming streets. But beyond the scenic landscapes, Como is home to a diverse population—including Italian locals, refugees, and immigrants from various cultural and religious backgrounds. Many families identify as Catholic by tradition but have little personal connection to Christ. Others come from Muslim or secular backgrounds. The area is also experiencing the challenges of modern European life—materialism, isolation, and a growing need for genuine hope. This creates a unique opportunity for relational ministry and Gospel witness.

  • Our partners at Sinai Ministries are committed to reaching the unreached in Como through practical service, relationship building, and the proclamation of the Gospel. Every summer they host an English-speaking sports camp that draws children from across the city, many of whom are from non-believing families. The camp blends language learning, sports, music, and creative activities with opportunities to share the love of Christ. You can serve in roles such as:

    • Sports & Recreation: Coach or assist in sports like soccer, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, or water games. Lead group warm-ups or fun competitions.

    • English Lessons: Help Italian children improve their English through creative and engaging activities.

    • Music & Drama: Lead songs, play instruments, or participate in skits and dramas that teach biblical truths in fun ways.

    • Arts & Crafts: Guide children through creative projects that reinforce camp themes.

    • General Camp Support: Assist with setup, cleanup, meal service, and supervision during activities.

    • Photography & Media: Capture moments of joy and ministry to share with parents and the broader community.

    • Specialized Roles: Nurses, first aid helpers, and cooks are also needed.

There are also opportunities before or after camp to serve among refugees—visiting ministry projects, helping with outreach, and learning different approaches to evangelism.

  • Volunteers will stay in simple, comfortable accommodations with teammates from Italy and around the world. Housing will have shared rooms and bathrooms, with separate areas for men and women. The communal environment provides plenty of space for fellowship, prayer, and building friendships within your ministry team.

  • You will fly into Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) and travel about 30 minutes to Como. You will travel to camp each day by cars/van. Your trip leader will coordinate transportation for the team.

  • Meals are included with your stay and will feature a mix of local Italian cuisine and familiar international dishes. There will be a chance to enjoy the region’s many cafés, pizzerias, and gelato shops during the trip. We will do our best to accommodate allergies—please note these in your application.

  • At Go InterNational, participant safety is our top priority. Our internal team and external consultants use a multi-layered risk management approach, including monitoring global reports and collaborating with ministry partners on the ground. We enforce safety protocols, such as requiring students to be with an adult, while our hosts provide location-specific guidelines. Our team leaders have been trained in risk management principles and have both on-field and home-office support to ensure a secure experience.
