✓ A community hub that draws young people through sports

✓ Building friendships that open doors to the gospel

✓ Discipling teens who may never enter a church

THE NEED

A Generation on the Sidelines

In Saposoa, Peru, countless young people are growing up disconnected from the church, with little access to positive role models or safe, life-giving community. Many spend their days on the streets or in unstable environments that leave them vulnerable to destructive choices. Without spaces that draw them in, this next generation risks being lost to the influence of poverty, hopelessness, and unbelief.

THE APPROACH

Reaching Teens Where They Already Gather

In Saposoa, soccer fields and basketball courts draw youth more reliably than church doors. That’s why local leaders envisioned a sports complex—not just as a place to play, but as a place to meet Christ. Through structured games, mentorship, and discipleship woven into daily practices, the Youth Sports Ministry becomes more than athletics: it’s a launching point for relationships that point teens to the hope of the gospel.

Key Initiatives:

  • Sports Complex & Outreach — A hub for athletic training, mentoring, and community.

  • Discipleship through Sports — Leaders integrate Scripture, prayer, and life conversations into the rhythm of practices and games.

  • Community Connection — Families gather to watch, deepening trust and opening further doors for ministry.

THE DIFFERENCE

From the Field to Faith

“I first started with soccer… this year I do track and field, and I play the keyboard and praise the Lord. Thank you so much for the space we have here.”

– Marcelo, Teen participant, Saposoa

Lives are already being changed. Young people who once saw the church as distant or irrelevant are finding Christ through the relationships formed on the court. Mentors have seen youth step into leadership, lead small prayer groups, and begin sharing their own faith with teammates. What began as games has grown into gospel conversations, baptisms, and a new wave of hope in the community.

THE INVITATION

You Can Change the Score

This isn’t just about sports. We get to come alongside a community to open doors to the gospel that might otherwise remain closed. Your support helps keep the complex running, provides equipment and training, and empowers local leaders to disciple the next generation. Together, we can make sure the youth of Saposoa don’t just play the game, but discover the life-changing hope of Christ.
