I recently had the opportunity to travel to Ciudad Juarez, Mexico to help train members of a new ministry called Ministerios Globales La Gran Comisión. This is an organization founded by long-time GO partner Jorge Ramirez. Its purpose is to raise missions awareness among the Christians in Mexico for the purpose of reaching the unreached in Mexico and other parts of the world. The training included leadership training, training in integrating physical and spiritual ministry and training in effective short-term missions.
After completing the training, we had the opportunity to participate in a medical team, which went to minister in a Christian school in a poor village outside of Juarez. This school started over twenty years ago as a ministry to the poor children who would otherwise have little opportunity for education. The team of Mexican doctors and nurses conducted health screenings and provided dental care to 100 children attending the school. One of the doctors who came with us was a graduate of that school, so it was great to see her now giving back!
We also visited a new ministry serving children in another poor area of Juarez. Jorge is providing mentoring and training for the young couple leading this ministry and Ministerios Globales will be looking to provide medical and dental services as well. We also hope that GO teams will be able to go and mnister to the children and assist in construction of a new ministry center in the near future.
In addition to founding Ministerios Globales, Jorge provides Bible training to two different groups each week and also continues his ministry in the Sierra Tarahumara region to the native people who he has been ministering to for over twenty years. He also continues to travel with GO mission teams to other countries and is a trainer for our Community Health Evangelism ministry.
GO InterNational is excited to part of Jorge’s ministry as he trains and leads workers for the harvest in Mexico and around the world. Please consider supporting his ministry with our prayers and financial support and joining us as we consider future teams to come along side this new ministry in Juarez.
